Exciting times. I’m setting out on a new creative adventure. After 26 years at m5 Marketing Communications, it was time to leave this award-winning agency as Creative Director and finally do my own thing. Freelance. But as long as I’ve been coming up with ideas for advertising campaigns, I’ve also been poking fun and drawing a few flies as the editorial cartoonist at The Telegram newspaper in St. John’s. So…combining my passions for both marketing and cartooning, I’ve established a small freelance studio and design firm. KT creative. My father-in-law once said if he had a company, his business card would say ‘Anything-For-A-Buck- Inc’. I love that name and gave it some serious thought. But I came up with simply ‘KT creative’.
My actual business card is two-sided. On one side, I painted a caricature of me and I’m offering my services as a cartoonist. Caricatures, in particular, are unique and colourful gifts that recognize any special occasion…Christmas, Father’s and Mother’s Day, anniversaries, retirements, 50th birthday celebration, promotions, etc. Plus they are a lot of fun to draw or paint…and look wicket framed in some one’s office or rec room. Also makes great conversation piece hanging on the walls in your chalet, cabin or even your shed.
On the other side of my business card, there’s a cool graphic of me illustrated by my talented daughter Jessica. It’s for the freelance side of my business services. With 26 years of experience in everything from multi-media campaigns, television commercials, graphic design, print ads, etc., I’m available to assist small to medium-sized companies and businesses with your creative marketing needs.
So not really ‘Anything-For-A-Buck-Inc.’, but more like ‘Anything-Freelance-Or-Caricatures-At-
