John A. Forward, B.A. - Personal Trainer/kinesiologist
Johnny has extensive athletic experience in high level sport. He trained in biathlon and cross country skiing for 17 years. During his biathlon career he competed in four Nation Championships, two Canada Winter Games, two World University Games as well as many North American Cup races. He understands the capacity of work required to be at the top of the sports world.
Along with his high level competitive sport, Johnny participates in and has studied many different sports and physical activities including, but not exclusive to: running, mountain biking, road biking, tennis, badminton, soccer, football, team handball, canoeing, gymnastics, track and field, climbing, and combative sports and martial arts. These have given him great empathy and an understanding of the demands that are put on athletes of a wide variety of sports.
Johnny has acquired plenty of coaching experience over the past ten years. He has coached for four different nordic clubs and has attended the Canada Games as a coach. He has National Coaching Certifications in cross country skiing, biathlon, and precision marksmanship.
Johnny’s education at the University of Alberta has provided him with a vast knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, kinesiology, exercise management and prescription, human physiology, exercise physiology, neurophysiology; sports medicine, coaching, and psychological and social sports studies
Johnny is an energetic individual driven towards his clients’ success. He is a great member of the MAX Athletics team and hopes to help you reach your goals.
