Coalition Against Violence - Avalon East

The Coalition Against Violence Avalon East is an alliance of community and government agencies dedicated to ending violence. The Coalition acts as an umbrella organization to provide support and enhance the violence prevention work of Member agencies throughout the Avalon East region. The Coalition is governed by a Board of Directors.

As an equality-seeking organization whose mandate is to address violence at its roots, the Coalition educates and advocates; increases awareness around the issues of violence; and lobbies for enhanced services in the prevention and early intervention of violence.

A group for change, the Coalition brings together diverse perspectives to facilitate crucial dialogue concerning emerging issues, policies, strategies, and front-line responses.

The Coalition is one of ten throughout the province working in partnership with the provincial Government’s Violence Prevention Initiative.

The Coalition is dedicated to violence prevention, education and advocacy.
