Our Thrift Store is located at 1062 Topsail Rd, Mount Pearl, and is open for donations and shopping Tues-Thurs 12-9pm, Fri 12-6pm, Sat 10-6pm.

The SPCA St. John’s is one of nine branches in Newfoundland and Labrador. It costs over $500,000 annually to operate our Shelter. We rely primarily on the kind support of people who make donations and support our fundraising events. We are also grateful for annual operating grants from the Province and The City of St. John’s, which cover approximately 10% of our costs.
Over sixty volunteers work at our shelter and PetSmart to care for the animals and provide them with much needed T.L.C. We are governed by a voluntary Board of Directors who manage the Society through a committee structure. The day-to-day operations of the shelter are run by a manager and seven animal care staff. Each year we are able to provide help to over 2000 animals.
There has been a Newfoundland Society since November 9, 1888. The first work in those days was mostly amongst horses, and the hardship they endured from pulling heavy loads up steep hills from the harbour.
